Are Ductless Mini-Splits in Little Rock, AR, Worth It?
Chances are that your home in Little Rock, AR, already has a central air conditioner; even then, a ductless mini-split could provide numerous benefits in the summer. Among other things, mini-splits are ideal for added-on rooms or outbuildings not reachable by the central AC and are energy-efficient.
Perfect for Room Additions
Mini-splits have two units: an outdoor compressor/condenser, and the indoor air handling unit, which you would mount on the wall of the room you want to be cooled. You could easily install one in the room you added during a recent construction project, or you could have it in a garage, tool shed or other outbuildings.
These systems have also seen wide use as retrofit add-ons in older homes that lack air ducts. If your home comes with only central heating, then mini-splits can come to the rescue. One compressor/condenser can power a maximum of four air handlers.
Its Zoning Capabilities
If you install multiple air handlers, zoning becomes a reality. Without needing ducts and dampers, each room or area can have a unique temperature setting based on the comfort levels of your family members. We carry a selection of both single-zone and multi-zone ductless systems for customers to choose from.
Energy Savings With Mini-Splits
The U.S. Department of Energy says that duct leaks can waste up to 30% of the energy you consume to cool your home, so you can see how ductless mini-splits will save you money. In addition, some of our Trane mini-splits will save money because of their inverter compressor. To avoid the energy waste that comes with starting up, the inverter compressor slows down once it reaches the set point and then speeds up as needed to maintain that temperature.
